But there's an important fact to remember: Your reputation doesn't depend on what a gossip says about you. It depends on how you live. Ruth earned her reputation, and Boaz could say, "All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of nobel character" (Ruth 3:11). Live a noble life and the only reputation that will be ruined is the reputation of the person who gossips and lies!"
